Who is Dr. Blass? |
 |
 |
|
Dr. Blass was born in New York. His father was a
podiatrist and therefore Podiatry was one of his earliest
childhood recollections. His college degree was obtained
from New York University with a major in Psychology. He
then went to the New York
College of Podiatric
Medicine where he |
|
graduated cum laude. His residency program was a
rotational program through approximately 6 different
institutions in and around New York City. Following his
residency program he made the move to Florida.
|
|
|
He
has been practicing in Tampa, Florida at the same location
since 1974. He served as chairman of the executive committee
of the Hillsborough County March of Dimes. |
|
Dr.
Blass is proud to be a regular lecturer for the Florida
Podiatric Medical Association. He has also served as a
consultant to a number of insurance companies as well as the
Department of Health for the State of Florida. However, his
greatest love has always been private practice. |
|
Dr.
Blass has a somewhat unique approach to private practice. He
believes that too much of medicine today relies on a doctor
simply telling a patient the necessary care and expecting the
patient to accept his recommendations. Dr. Blass prefers to
spend time with new patients explaining their condition to
them. If there are a variety of options for treatment, he is
more than happy to discuss them. Patient’s who come with their
ideas of treatment whether obtained from other patients or
from the internet are more than welcome to discuss their
information. Dr. Blass’ office always tries to run on time, as
we believe that your time is valuable. Through 30+ years of
practice this has perhaps resulted in treating fewer patients,
however, each patient is given the time they require to
discuss and treat their foot conditions. |
|
Dr.
Blass maintains privileges at both the Tampa Bay Surgery
Center and University Community Hospital. In addition, there
are facilities in office to provide both diagnosis and
treatment to patients with minimal amounts of referrals.
However, Dr. Blass remains well connected in the medical
community so that if the patient’s condition requires more
extensive care, the best possible providers will be available.
Dr. Blass is exceptionally proud of his staff and they are
equally dedicated to providing the same level of care to the
patient. |
